About the Greater Peterborough Guide
The Greater Peterborough Guide is an independent, editorial resource dedicated to the Greater Peterborough area and the wider Monadnock Region of New Hampshire. Our goal is simple: to help visitors, prospective residents, and the merely curious understand and enjoy one of New England’s most rewarding small-town regions.
What We Do
We gather, organize, and write about the things that make this region worth knowing — its outdoors, its arts and culture, its heritage, and the practicalities of visiting or relocating. Everything here is offered freely as a public resource for the community and its guests, with no bookings to sell and no membership to join.
What We Are Not
We are not a membership organization, a booking agency, or a government body, and we are not the Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce. The chamber is a separate, active organization that serves the area’s businesses directly; if you are looking for chamber membership, a member directory, or official business services, please contact the chamber or the regional Greater Monadnock Collaborative. We simply celebrate the region they help sustain.
Our Approach
We aim to be accurate, useful, and honest — naming real places, linking to authoritative sources, and describing the region as it is, trade-offs and all. Where we mention public landmarks, cultural institutions, or organizations, we do so as an independent guide pointing you toward them, and we link to their official sites so you can go straight to the source. When we are unsure, we say so; when we are wrong, we fix it.
How the Guide Is Organized
The guide is arranged by the reasons people come here: the outdoors, the arts, the region’s heritage, and the practical business of visiting or moving. Each page stands on its own but links to the others, so you can follow your interests wherever they lead — from a hiking trail to a gallery to a farmers’ market — the way a good day in the region actually unfolds.
